Where It Begins: Peaceful Playgrounds

Does it seem as odd to you as it does to me that we spend hundreds of hours and tens of thousands of dollars teaching each child how to read and write during their first twelve years or so of education, but we invest virtually no time or money at all on teaching them how to resolve conflicts constructively? This is one of the most basic and crucially important skills a person can have if they are to become happy, successful, and productive as an adult, and yet... we seem to think kids will just figure it out on their own.

A program called Peaceful Playgrounds is taking a more proactive approach toward teaching kids how to resolve disputes with a win-win solution in mind.

Read more about it in this article from The Meadville Tribune.
